In West Virginia, outbreaks are immediately reportable to the Local Health Departments (LHDs), regardless of setting, as per West Virginia law. LHDs, in collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau for Public Health, Division of Infectious Disease Epidemiology (DIDE) investigate all reported outbreaks.
